This site collects almost nothing. Here is the almost.

What this site counts

Google Analytics runs here in a cookieless configuration. Consent Mode denies analytics storage before the tag loads, so nothing is written to your device and nothing follows you to another site. What Google receives is a count: the page you opened, the site or app you arrived from, an approximate country, and a device type.

We look at it to work out which articles are worth writing more of.

There are no advertising pixels, no session recording, no heatmaps and no A/B tests. We do not build a profile of you and there is nothing here to sell. Any content blocker stops the tag, and nothing on the site breaks if you run one.

What we do hold

The contact form. The form on the contact page posts to Netlify, which stores the submission and emails it to us — your name, your email, and whatever you wrote in the message box. A copy stays in Netlify's dashboard until we delete it. If you would rather it did not, email us directly instead.

Email you send us. We hold it like any small business holds correspondence: in our mailbox (Google Workspace), for as long as the conversation or any engagement that follows stays relevant. We do not add you to a mailing list, and there is no newsletter to be added to.

Hosting logs. The site is hosted on Netlify, which keeps short-lived server logs (IP address, requested page, user agent) to run its network. We do not access or export these. Netlify's own privacy policy governs them.

Client work is governed separately

If we do engagement work together, the handling of your business's information is set out in the engagement's own scope document — including which systems hold what, and under whose accounts. That document, not this page, is the one that governs client material. The short version of our standing practice: work is built inside your own accounts, and sensitive data stays in systems you control.

Your rights

Under the Australian Privacy Principles you can ask what personal information we hold about you, ask for it to be corrected, or ask for it to be deleted. Given the above, the honest answer for most people is "an email thread". Write to sam.k@shiftconsulting.io and it will be handled by a person, usually the same day.

Changes

If this page changes, the date at the top changes with it. There is no version that quietly grants more collection than this one.
