The front door

A website wired into the workflow, not bolted on after.

Custom, mobile-first web design for Sydney service businesses, from A$4,500 fixed. The difference is what happens after someone hits submit: the form feeds a workflow, the workflow does the admin, and you approve the result.

The difference

Most small-business websites are brochures. An enquiry arrives, lands in an inbox, and waits.

The usual way this gets built is two vendors: a designer who makes the site, and someone else — usually nobody — who deals with what the forms actually do. Shift builds the site and the workflow behind it as one thing. An enquiry creates the record, drafts the reply and starts the quote. A booking lands in the calendar and confirms itself. You see it working before handover.

One person does both halves, so nothing falls between them.

What's included

  • Custom design, mobile-first. Built for the phone screen your customers are actually on, not shrunk down to it afterwards.
  • Forms wired into workflows. Intake, quotes and bookings feeding the systems you already pay for, with a person approving anything that matters.
  • The technical layer done on day one. Speed, semantic structure, hand-written titles, structured data and local Sydney signals — the plumbing this site runs on itself.
  • A 67-point check before handover. Every build ships against the same written QA gate, not a designer's glance.
  • Everything in your name. Domain, hosting, analytics, code. If Shift disappeared tomorrow, your site would not notice.

The honest bit

Sometimes the website is not the problem.

If the site you have is fine and the hours are leaking in admin, a rebuild is an expensive way to feel busy. That gets said at the fit call, and the answer becomes a workflow build or a Flow Map instead. The site only gets rebuilt when the front door is genuinely part of the leak.

Straight answers

Before you ask.

What does a small business website cost in Sydney?
Quotes in the Sydney market run from a few hundred dollars for a template to well past twenty thousand for an agency build. Shift's websites start at A$4,500, fixed before work starts, and the price includes the part most quotes leave out: the workflows behind the forms, so an enquiry becomes a record and a drafted reply rather than an email nobody actions.
Do you build on WordPress or a page builder?
The default is a custom build: fast, mobile-first, no theme bloat and no plugin stack to maintain. If there is a genuine reason to build on a platform you already run, that conversation happens before the quote, not after. Either way the site lives in your accounts and you own all of it.
Can the website connect to the systems I already use?
That is the point of the build. Forms feed the tools you already pay for — the enquiry creates the record, the quote request starts the quote, the booking lands in the calendar — with a person approving anything that matters. The website and the workflow are one build, not two vendors pointing at each other. The owner report shows what that looks like a month in.
Is SEO included?
The structural part is, on day one: clean semantic markup, fast pages, titles and descriptions written by hand, structured data, local signals and a sitemap. What is not sold is an ongoing SEO retainer. If content is the right next step after launch, you will be told what it is and you can do it with anyone.

Next step

Bring the job that hurts.

Thirty minutes, no deck. If the website is the leak, you will get a fixed quote. If it is not, you will be told what is.
